Mimmi Blomqvist

Mimmi Blomqvist, born 1994 in Stockholm, is a designer with a future- and sustainability focus. She strives to create objects beyond the expected, with the intention to merge utility items and sculpture into a common design. For Kosta Boda she has designed the collection Kappa, which is made of 100 percent recycled glass.

Mimmi has a background as an illustrator, and has studied at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) with a focus on ceramics and glass. During her studies, glass was a new material in her world, and something she demonstrably has proven to master. She continuously explores her creativity within different fields, and considers circular raw materials to be a crystal clear part of her creations.

“I’ve always been a creative person, but the idea of designing furniture and objects has gained momentum over time. After my first visit to the studio in Kosta, I felt energized and inspired. It’s an awesome feeling to have seen my idea go from sketch to an actual design object in Kosta Boda’s collection.” – Mimmi Blomqvist
