Crackle defies preconceptions and makes a glassblower's nightmare - cracked glass - its hallmark. Here it is used to give the object beauty and character. The clay mold is hollowed out by hand and the cracked surface is formed using a historical technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. The result is a series of products whose expression changes depending on perspective and distance, and which are reminiscent of sculptures made of colored or clear ice.

Crackle by Kosta Boda was launched in 2020 and consists of vases in different sizes, a bowl and a candle holder, each of them mouth-blown in Kosta. 

The series is also available as selected works in a limited edition with five unique, numbered vases signed by Åsa Jungnelius herself. Design by Åsa Jungnelius.
